Does the Library have the textbooks I need for my class?

Answer

Occasionally, you will find a copy, but textbooks used in courses are not routinely purchased by the University Library. You can check our online catalog, MinerQuest, to be sure.

If you would like to purchase instead of borrow your required textbook, check the UTEP Bookstore

If the instructor has placed a copy of the textbook on Reserve, it may be checked out at the Access Services Desk. To check if a book is on reserve, conduct an advanced search in MinerQuest and select the Course Reserves search option.

If the Library does not have your required textbook, you may request a copy, for free, using ILL request form from another institution. You must log in with your UTEP credentials to submit your request.

Please note: it takes 5 - 7 business days to fill your request. For more information, please contact ILL at 915-747-5678.

For more information, please contact the Access Services Desk at ask@utep.libanswers.com or call us at (915) 747-5672.
